At Spotswood, we want to give you every opportunity to love our city and shine a Gospel light where you live, work, and play! This year, we have 2 options – and we hope you’ll take advantage of BOTH!
October 29 • 4-6P
Spotswood Parking Lot • FREE
Join us for TRUNK or TREAT this year at Spotswood! We’ll have cars decked out in fun themes, plenty of candy, Poppin Jon’s Kettle Corn, and a touch-a-truck element!
To pull this off, we’re going to need a few things:
• Cars (50-60) // Register below!
• Candy – We need LOTS of candy. We are asking every family at Spotswood to donate a few bags of candy. Candy donations can be placed in the LoveFXBG Halloween bins around campus!
• Help us spread the word to your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors! (on social media, word of mouth, or using our invites available at the Next Steps Station!)
Set up will begin at 2P. Please check in at the check-in table before setting up your trunk.
This is a fun family-friendly community outreach event. Please do not choose a theme that is too scary or dark for young families.
Please, no games. The event runs from 4-6P, and we want to keep the line moving as much as possible.
We do ask each trunk to supply candy for the duration of the event. There is no way to know how many people from the community will attend. We expect a steady flow of children and families for the entire event, so please plan accordingly. If for some reason you do run out, we will have a limited amount of extra to share.
Pastor Drew will be giving out an information about the church and all that we have to offer at the end of the trunk or treat.
Pastor Drew’s car is the last car before families will exit the event.
There will not be a rain date if we need to cancel for extreme weather.
On Halloween night, we’ll be out front of our homes – either with our families or with friends – engaging with neighbors, passing out candy, serving hot drinks, having Gospel conversations, and inviting them to Spotswood!
How to win this Halloween being out front
• Post up with a fire pit at the end of your driveway.
• Have the best candy (people remember the house with whole candy bars)
• Try to connect with each family in some meaningful way
• Identify a few people to receive a free copy of Rick Warren’s “What on earth am I here for?”
How to win this Halloween if you're banding together
Keep it simple!
Food + games + music = win!
Have some from the party out by the road
to make sure people know they are invited to join in the fun!
Meet everyone with a smile!
Aim to make a genuine connection with each family that comes by.
Hot Chocolate / Apple Cider Bar
Fire pit near the road with with s’mores
Reverse trick-or-treat (take goodies and invites to your neighbors)
Host a hayride through your neighborhood
Bake cookies instead of handing out candy (wrap individually)
Spend time praying for our Gospel outposts across FXBG on October 31
