Explore your call to ministry with a Spotswood Internship
Internships
We love investing in the next generation of ministry leaders! Every year, Spotswood offers internships across a number of our ministries. Truthfully, it is more of an apprenticeship in that our interns get invaluable hands-on experience and 1-on-1 mentorship.
Available Internships
Student Ministry Internship (2)
The Student Ministry Internship is a paid, 10-week internship over the summer (mid-May through Mid-August) intended for men and women who are exploring a call to ministry.
The program combines focused training, hands-on experience, and intentional mentorship to help participants grow in their leadership ability and clarify their calling. What our past interns have said
“Working with Spotswood students for two summers now has been incredible. This internship will help steward your calling. I never felt like I was hired for grunt work, or solely to keep students busy. I felt like I was a part of the ministry because I was given responsibility and leadership opportunities. I was able to grow in my calling by this internship through one on one mentorship, delegation, community, and even failure. You will seriously learn so much, and eat dope food.”

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time interning at Spotswood as the College Intern.
From the onset, I was given real responsibilities along with opportunities for hands-on ministry. Through these 10 weeks, I have gained countless experiences, to go along with finding a community of people who love Jesus. The internship at Spotswood has allowed for a deeper understanding of vocational ministry, including the behind-the-scenes things that are vital for a healthy ministry.
The leadership here provides a great example of servant leadership, coupled with a posture of humility. The lessons and wisdom I have gained from coming to Spotswood is something I am extremely grateful for.
If you are looking to be stretched and grow, not only in practical ministry skills, but also personally in your walk with God, then consider interning at Spotswood!

College Ministry Intern
God used this internship to better equip me for the call He has given me which is to minister to students. He used this internship to further confirm my call to youth ministry through the hands-on experience I received. As an intern, I got to teach during large group gatherings on Sunday, help lead a mission trip to Alaska, assist in planning events, sit in on small groups, build relationships with students, help run games at VBS, make graphics and documents, help write a devotional, attended summer camp, sit in on staff meetings, and how to build a ministry budget. If you’re a college student considering interning at this church, know this: Spotswood will put you in the game.

Student Ministry Intern
I came into this internship not quite knowing what kind of ministry the Lord was leading me into, but after my experience with the Spotswood Student ministry, I feel that the Lord is directing me to Youth Ministry.
Not only did the Lord use this internship to give me clarity about the future, He also showed me that He works through any and every means to draw us nearer to Him. It was incredible to see students come to know the Lord through different events that the student ministry hosted this summer; seeing the Lord work on the hearts of the students in that capacity is not something that I will soon forget.
In this internship, I got to help with youth ministry events, build relationships with the students at these events, write some content for the student ministry, and experience working in an office environment in the church.
Although I have never had any other internships, something that I feel is unique about Spotswood is how welcoming they are. I instantly felt welcome and wanted at this church. A lot of people knew my name before I even knew theirs, and it was so sweet to be in an environment that I felt so welcomed into.
