To renew the body of believer’s faith in the Bible as the answer to all their emotional and psychological needs. To point Christians to the Bible and other biblical resources relevant to meeting their emotional, spiritual, relational and practical needs. To bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives.
We also offer Pre-Marital counseling using the Prepare and Enrich Curriculum.
First, that you will be willing to grow and change.
Second, that you will attend counseling sessions regularly unless providentially hindered.
Third, that you will complete homework assignments between counseling sessions to implement and ensure lasting change.

Pastor Gene Willis
Gene joined the staff of SBC in February of 2001. He has served various churches over the past 40 years as Minister of Youth, Minister of Music and now Director of Biblical Counseling for SBCC. Gene was ordained to the Gospel ministry in October of 1976. He has worked with a cross section of people over the years and is uniquely qualified to guide a wide variety of people through life’s storms. He is a board certified Pastoral Counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and pursuing another Master’s degree in Biblical Counseling from Liberty University.
Meagan holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Ministries from Summit University (formerly known as Baptist Bible College and Seminary.) Before coming to SBCC, she worked with children and families in crisis in the community. She provides individual and family counseling. Meagan’s passion is to help restore women, families and marriages through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. As a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), she is board certified as a Biblical Counselor. Meagan lives locally with her husband and three sons.
Julie holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling. She is a licensed school counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). Currently, Julie is employed as a school counselor in Spotsylvania County with 26 years of teaching and school counseling experience. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and has been approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling to provide counseling services, while working toward state licensure as a professional counselor. Julie and her husband are active members of Spotswood Baptist Church and the Fredericksburg Gideons.
Randy has been a member of Spotswood Baptist church for 16 years and also serves on the Deacon board. He and his wife of 30 years have 3 adult children and 1 granddaughter. Randy helps to lead the Re/ Engage marriage ministry at Spotswood that has helped many couples deepen their marriage commitment through a Christ centered approach.
He holds a Masters Degree in Marriage & Family and Professional Counseling from Lancaster Bible College. He counsels men and couples with a wide range of problems, including sexual purity issues. He is also a certified Symbis and Prepare and Enrich pre-marital counselor. He is a member of The American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
Vicky was born in Riverside CA and has two grown daughters and four grandchildren. She enjoys scrapbooking and traveling in her spare time. Vicky has been a member of SpotswoodBaptistChurch since July 1993 and has been employed at the church since May 2000. One of her life verses is… Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
Testimony: “I had always thought my salvation was okay because I had attended church off and on for most of my life and I knew who Jesus was. However, until May 1994 I was lost! I was lost and never realized it. Now, I know I am a child of God’s! It is my goal to strive daily to become all that God wishes me to be.”
