Gene received his Bachelor of Music Education from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. He taught high school vocal music for 4 years in Loudon County, VA. He spent one year in the music ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ and graduated from their Institute of Biblical Studies.
   
Gene served as Minister of Music and Youth at Ferry Farm Baptist Church in Fredericksburg and Minister of Music at Emmanuel Baptist in Manassas before coming to Spotswood, the first time, to be our Minister of Music and Youth in the mid-1980s.
   
He moved on and became an Executive for several Fortune 500 companies in the health care arena that were Christian based and Christian led.
   
Gene returned to Spotswood in February 2001 and is our Minister of Music and Fine Arts.
   
He is married to Bethany Freeman Willis and they have two grown sons; Mark and Hunter. They also have two grandsons; Bryce and Braydon.
   
In his free time Gene enjoys playing golf, snow-skiing and trading cars.
