Testimony: "I grew up in a Christian family. When I was about 12 I had my 'Front Porch Conversion.' I went to see my friend, Thomas, one day and our pastor was sitting on the front porch talking to him about giving his life to the Lord. When I walked up our pastor said, 'Thomas is going to join the church on Sunday! Kenn, why don't you?' And I said, 'Sure, why not!' So, that Sunday I went forward at church and from that point I thought I was a Christian. I thought it sounded like a great opportunity to go and Judy had never been to Yellowstone. My whole motivation to go this mission trip was so that Judy and I could spend a weekend at Yellowstone. Building the church was a side thought. It was a great deal, for $215 we had a 10 day vacation. It was not a "Road to Damascus" experience or anything but some how over the course of those 10 days the Lord worked in my life and convicted me. The life I had been living up to that point had not been a Christian life. I don't know what it was but something came over me very gradually. I convinced myself, and I think I was right, that I had never really been a Christian. The day we got back home I walked in the front door and simply set our luggage down and walked straight to the refrigerator. I don't know what compelled me to do it but I gathered up all the beer and threw it in the trash can. Judy walked in and saw the luggage sitting there and wondered why I hadn't take it back to our bedroom. She came looking for me and found me standing in the kitchen. I think she realized then what had happened. She gave me a big hug and we stood there and cried. Before that day I used to cuss like a stable hand and just like that I quit drinking and cussing. I became a whole new person. What I know now, that I didn't know then, is that I have assurance of my eternal salvation."
